ARCHIMEDES at Quantum Research Retreat 2025

On the 14th of October 2025, ARCHIMEDES coordinator Reiner John (AVL List) and the project’s partner Johannes Wesseler (FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg) participated in a research retreat held in Stralsund, Germany.

The event brought together leading experts in quantum technologies, including Roland Nagy (Nagy Lab for Applied Quantum Technologies), Florian Kaiser (Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, LIST), and Heinrich Heiss (Infineon Technologies), alongside early-career researchers and PhD students. The retreat fostered dynamic exchanges across quantum sensing, quantum computing, and quantum communication, aiming to strengthen collaboration and inspire new research directions and applications.

During the meeting, Johannes Wesseler presented the State of the Art in quantum sensing and highlighted ongoing efforts across several Chips Joint Undertaking projects: A-IQ Ready, ARCHIMEDES, Cynergy4MIE, and MOSAIC EU Project, all working toward a shared vision of developing an integrated quantum system.
